Artist Statement:

Mario Abela’s work investigates the interweaving of man and nature in the age defined by the notion of the Anthropocene. Through his work, he invites viewers to reflect on the delicate balance and radical contingency that sustain life by pointing towards the subtle, pre-individual ground of being where beings exist in a deeply relational state, a zone through which every entity comes to be and eventually also comes to pass. In this way, he seeks to encourage a spatiotemporal alteration in order to move beyond linearity and conventional linguistico-rational modes of apprehension.
